I have not yet decided whether to keep this blog going or not.
I was terminated at Astak/Team Research/EZRead.
Maybe I will get on with another eBook device or bookstore. That would be great.
This blog, also, was never appreciated by that company. On the other hand, they totally devalued just about every contribution I made.
I do not wish to rant and rave here. Have no desire to say bad things about my old "friends".
But I think you all should know that the best laid plans and best intentionsdo often go astray and this is that case.
eBook Readers are still an incredible asset to the environment!! Please stick with "reading green"!!

I just wanted to say thank you for your many postings over at the "forum".
For over a year, I've checked in there specifically to see what you had to say. You were the only official representative of any company that I ever saw posting there, and I found myself reading about your product just because of you.
I never made any comments, so you don't know me. However, I think that goes to show that the people who do sign in at the forum are only the tip of the iceberg. I would guess you were reaching many more people than you or your company ever knew.
What you did was unique. Your company was not providing a forum, and you found an existing forum to use. That is why it may be too late for your company to now establish their own forum. Also, your unique personality made you a celebrity of sorts (in a very small pond.) That is why it is going to be hard for someone else to fill your shoes.
A person claiming to be you has begun posting at the forum. I hope that is really you.
I just wanted to say thank you for your entertaining and informative posts, at the forum and here on your blog. In a way, you are a master of "guerrilla marketing."
I wish you the best of luck in the future.
I think you need to keep this blog, or a similar one going. It shows potential employers what you are capable of doing.
I looked for you at BEA this year because I wanted to meet you, but I never found you.

Greetings from Spain. I am looking for a good ebook reader and I found the 6 "EZ Reader Plus. I really like it. I have seen that is out of order. Is there any possibility to buy it in USA?
ReplyDeleteI hope you learned something from the situation. I know what it's like to be the one guy in the room willing to tell the emperor he has no cloths...but, dude you had a family to feed and needed remember that before you said/wrote anything that could be controversial.
ReplyDeleteI suggested this to you many times over the past couple years on MR....I was not trying to be mean but trying to get you to wake up about where you were pushing things. Trust me, I am that guy too...but different at the same time.
I would offer a suggestion...hang out a consultant shingle. Seriously you have the experience, you have the understanding, you need to refine the loquacious side of things but not much because companies will be paying you to be blunt and tell them they are screwing things up. Consultants get by with a completely different set of rules. I did this because I do NOT fit the mold of the typical AmeriCorp drone...and I did great...sure it's scary but at the same time it's rewarding once it starts working.
Good luck because I suspect you are going to need it...and keep in touch with those at EZRead with whom you are friendly, they represent excellent contacts for future jobs.
